Day 13: Lijiang (麗江)

Like I mentioned at the end of the last post, today we woke up with no water in the bathroom and started switching hostels, luckily we had passed one that looked good the day before so we stopped by and booked a room. It was slightly more expensive, instead of $7 a person it was $9 a person, but this place was tons better, a very nice room and patio areas that were very nice place to sit and a very helpful front desk.

A Bob Marley poster mixed in with old propaganda posters in our hostel.

So far while we have been surprised about the price of admission places, we have been very happy with price of hostels and food, we probably spend about $15-$20 a day on food and hostel per person.  Here is our food for today

Fish on a stick, didnt get it, but probably about 50 cents

Charlotte buying fruit, probably another 50 cents

The traditional Naxi woman Charlotte bought fruit from

Dinner, maybe 5 dollars for 1/6 of the pig

Spent the rest of the day just walking around the old town part of Lijiang trying to see as much of it as we could.

Old town outside our hostel

We had to buy a $2 beer to sit in the VIP section overlooking Old town

They even roped it off for us
