Day 54: Nanjing (南京)

Dr. Sun YatSen
We started off the day by going to Dr. Sun YatSen's mausoleum(中山陵).  It is located at the top of a large series of steps.  We did notice that the statue of the Sun YatSen was about 1/2 of the size of the Sun YatSen memorial in Taiwan, but the overall complex was probably more impressive here.

We decided this was a good time to get off the mountain

Ming Xiaoling Tomb(明孝陵)
On the same mountain of Sun YatSen's mausoleum was a tomb dating back to the 14th century Ming dynasty.  On our way it started pouring rain which is always nice to cool of the temperature as well as chase away the Chinese tourists, so even though it stopped raining there was almost no one there.  It was a huge complex full of statues along the walkways and huge buildings, unfortunately after walking through it for about an hour we got to the tomb, only for the main room to be a souvenir shop with no specific information about the tombs themselves.

Dinner
We went back to the old town area for dinner and got a course with 16 different local dishes, I think Charlotte and I only liked about 4 of the 16 though
