Midway Point

I was going to give a summary so far since we are at our midway point, but I think it will have to wait until I have a little more time.

For now just want to assure people we are avoiding the floods as best we can, although this latest one occurred only 500 km from where we are now, but we didnt arrive in this province until after it happened

our plan for the 2nd half is a little more relaxed as we will stay in the same cities for longer, at least after this week

Over the next 2 days we are headed towards Inner Mongolia and the grasslands where we will stay for a day or two.  Then take a slight detour south for 2 days, then head to Beijing.  We will spend close to a week in Beijing before heading towards Shanghai and Nanjing and spending about a week in that area.

Then in September we will hit one last mountain near Shanghai and then a national park and then a 4 day cruise down the Yangtze if it is no longer flooded, before heading back to Hong Kong.
